Meritocracy - the emerging employment standard

Employment standards appear to be migrating toward a meritocracy, where college degrees are no longer required to apply for a job, and advanced college degrees from specific colleges were required to win the "pick me" resume competition.  

What is a Meritocracy?

A meritocracy is a structure under which participants are valued based on their contributions or demonstrated achievement (merit), and not on where they came from, or what education level they have achieved.
